According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred near Old Highway 17 at approximately 11:45 p.m. Investigators reported that a Ford Escape traveling south in the northbound lanes struck Isaac’s Mazda 3 in the left northbound lane. The Ford Escape caught fire following the collision.
Isaac died at the scene. His 18-year-old passenger, Noel Hutchings of Cleveland, Georgia, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment. The driver of the Ford Escape also died at the scene, but authorities had not released that person’s identity in the information provided.
