A South Los Angeles community is grappling with the heartbreaking death of four-month-old Luna, who was found deceased in a dumpster, as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
Luna’s 19-year-old biological mother, Takiyah Babers, has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the infant’s death. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish what happened and how Luna came to be found in the dumpster.
According to reports, Luna’s grandparents had been helping care for the baby and had recently returned her to her mother. Hours later, the family was reportedly watching the morning news when they recognized the location being shown on television.
It was their own apartment complex.
The discovery reportedly left the family with a series of devastating questions. They had initially been told that Luna was sleeping. Later, they were reportedly told that the baby was with her biological father.
But Luna was missing.
