With profound sadness, the Brevard County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Bellamy Dawkins-Morris, 5, a young child whose life was tragically cut short following an accident at Riviera Elementary School.
According to reports, the devastating incident occurred when a video display board fell at the school, striking Bellamy and causing critical injuries. Despite efforts to respond to the emergency and provide assistance, the young child sadly passed away.
The loss of a child is a tragedy that is difficult to comprehend. At only 5 years old, Bellamy’s life was just beginning. There were still countless birthdays ahead, friendships waiting to grow, dreams waiting to unfold, and precious childhood moments that should have been experienced.

The Riviera Elementary School community is now navigating a period of grief as students, educators, and families come together to support one another and remember a young life taken far too soon.
As authorities and school officials continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident, thoughts remain with Bellamy’s family and everyone affected by this devastating loss.
