A law enforcement community is mourning the tragic death of Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Agent Kevin Morris, who lost his life in a head-on collision involving a wrong-way driver on Interstate 95 overnight.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash. Details about the other driver and their condition had not been released in the information provided.
Morris dedicated years of his career to protecting and serving others. After retiring from the Palm Bay Police Department in 2011, he joined the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as a deputy sheriff before becoming an agent in the Criminal Investigative Services division.
Sheriff Ivey described Morris as someone who was loved by everyone who knew him, underscoring the profound loss his death represents for the agency. For the colleagues who worked alongside him, his passing is not only the loss of a fellow officer but also of a valued member of their professional family.
News of Morris’s death brings sorrow to his family, friends, and colleagues, who must now face the difficult reality of losing someone whose career was devoted to public service. Those who served with him will carry forward the memories they shared and the impact of his years of commitment.
