The community of Caddo Parish, Louisiana, is mourning the loss of Captain David Latron Robinson, who passed away on September 29, 2026, following more than three decades of dedicated service to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office and the people he served.
At the time of his passing, Robinson was serving as Captain of Investigations, a position in which his years of experience, leadership and commitment to public service were valued by colleagues throughout the department.
For more than 30 years, Robinson dedicated himself to law enforcement and to protecting the community. His career represented a lifetime of service, responsibility, and relationships built with fellow deputies and the people around him.
Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. remembered Robinson as more than a colleague. He described him as a mentor, friend and source of strength to those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Robinson was also remembered for his compassion, guidance and the lasting friendships he developed throughout his career. For the men and women of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, his absence represents not only the loss of a respected law-enforcement leader, but also the loss of someone who had become an important part of their professional family.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office extended its condolences to Robinson’s family, friends and fellow deputies as they navigate the difficult days following his sudden passing.
After more than three decades of service, Robinson leaves behind a legacy that reaches beyond his title or rank. His years of dedication will remain part of the history of the sheriff’s office and the community he served.
