Rebekah Watson Obituary – Car Accident: Rebekah Watson Remembered After Fatal Taylor County Crash; Driver Arrested

With profound sadness, Rebekah Watson is remembered following a devastating two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Taylor County, West Virginia.According to West Virginia State Police, the fatal collision occurred around 7:12 p.m. Saturday on Middletown Road near the Marion and Taylor County line, in the area of 1139 Middletown Road near Boothsville.

Court documents indicate that Watson and Gregory Scott Burrows, 53, were traveling in separate vehicles when the two vehicles collided head-on. Watson suffered fatal injuries in the crash, while another person involved was injured.

Police allege that Burrows left the scene before authorities arrived. Two witnesses reportedly spoke with him following the collision and were able to confirm his identity.

Taylor County Prosecutor John Bord said authorities subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for Burrows. Officers located him Monday afternoon, around 1 p.m., hiding in the grass on a hill above his home, and took him into custody. He has been charged with leaving the scene of a deadly accident.

The crash remains under investigation by West Virginia State Police.

Multiple emergency agencies responded, including Taylor County EMS, Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department, West Virginia State Police of Grafton, Marion County EMS, Grafton Fire Department, Bridgeport Fire Department, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia Division of Highways, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and the West Virginia Medical Examiner.
