Dallan Walker Sweebe Bus Accident: Midland Community Mourns 27-Year-Old Dallan Walker Sweebe Following Fatal Homer Township Crash

With heavy hearts, Dallan Walker Sweebe, 27, of Midland, Michigan, is being remembered after his life was tragically cut short following a serious crash involving a school bus in Homer Township.

The collision happened Monday morning, October 5, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m. on East Isabella Road (M-20), east of North Homer Road. According to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, Sweebe was driving a 2024 Toyota Corolla westbound when his vehicle rear-ended a 2026 International school bus driven by a 73-year-old Saginaw man.

Sweebe was transported by EMS to MyMichigan Medical Center–Midland with serious, life-threatening injuries before being flown to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Despite the efforts to save him, he died Tuesday evening at the hospital.

Multiple people were aboard the school bus at the time of the crash, including students from Jefferson Middle School and H.H. Dow High School. Some reported minor injuries but declined further evaluation and treatment at the scene. No serious injuries among the students were reported.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. Toxicology results are pending to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role, and once the investigation is complete, a final report will be submitted to the Midland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

For Dallan’s family and those who knew him, his death is about far more than the details of a traffic investigation. It is the sudden loss of a 27-year-old husband, father, son and loved one whose life was still unfolding.

Dallan leaves behind his wife, Kassidi, their two young sons and his parents. His family remembered him as a devoted father who treasured his family and described his family as his whole world.

Twenty-seven years is far too short for a life story to end. There should have been more ordinary mornings, more family dinners, more time with his children, more dreams to pursue and more memories waiting to be made.

Instead, one October morning changed everything.

Yet Dallan’s story will not be defined only by the crash that took his life. He will be remembered through the people he loved, the family he worked so hard to support and the memories that remain with those who knew him.

His family has also shared that Dallan will be an organ donor, allowing part of his legacy to continue through the lives of others even amid an immeasurable loss.

May Dallan Walker Sweebe rest peacefully, and may his wife, children, parents, family, friends and loved ones find strength and comfort as they carry his memory forward.
