Bryan Torrez Obituary-Car Accident: Driver Dies After Fatal 18-Wheeler Crash in Odessa, Texas

The community is mourning the death of Bryan Torrez, who died following a serious vehicle crash in Odessa, Texas, on October 1, 2026.

According to the Odessa Police Department, officers responded at approximately 6:31 p.m. to a major collision in the 3000 block of South Highway 385. The crash involved an 18-wheeler and a red Dodge Ram 1500 being driven by Torrez.

Police said the 18-wheeler was traveling northbound on Highway 385 and was slowing down to make a left turn. Torrez was traveling northbound directly behind the truck.

The preliminary investigation determined that Torrez failed to control his speed and struck the rear of the 18-wheeler. He was seriously injured in the collision and transported to Medical Center Hospital (MCH) for treatment.

Despite medical efforts, Torrez was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel at the hospital.

The Odessa Police Department said Torrez’s next of kin was notified. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains ongoing.
