With heavy hearts, we remember Curtis Warren, 25, of Cornelius, North Carolina, whose life was tragically cut short Friday night in a motorcycle crash in Iredell County.
The fatal collision happened at approximately 8:24 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the intersection of Sullivan Farm Road and Red Cedar Lane, just north of Statesville.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Warren was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Sullivan Farm Road when a Hyundai passenger car attempting to turn left from Red Cedar Lane onto Sullivan Farm Road collided with the motorcycle. Warren suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Hyundai was driven by 18-year-old Addison Oxendine of Statesville, who was not injured in the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
State Highway Patrol investigators are expected to submit their completed findings to the Iredell County District Attorney’s Office for review. As of the latest reports, no charges had been filed in connection with the crash.
For those who knew Curtis, the circumstances of his death cannot capture the fullness of the life that came before it.
A life is more than the final moments described in a crash report. It is made up of memories, relationships, laughter, conversations, hopes and ordinary moments that become deeply meaningful when someone is suddenly gone.
Curtis’s passing leaves family, friends and others who knew him facing a heartbreaking loss. The days ahead will bring difficult moments as those closest to him adjust to a world without his presence.
Yet memories have a way of keeping a person close. Through photographs, stories and the moments shared over the years, Curtis Warren’s name and the life he lived can continue to be remembered.
May Curtis be remembered with love and dignity, and may his family, friends and loved ones find strength and comfort in the memories they hold of him.
