With profound sadness, family and friends are mourning the loss of James Myers, 41, of Elkhart, Indiana, whose life was tragically cut short following a serious motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon in Goshen.

The collision occurred on October 4, 2026, at approximately 1:56 p.m. at the intersection of E. Lincoln Avenue and Olive Street. Officers with the Goshen Police Department and medics with the Goshen Fire Department responded to a reported crash involving a Ford Econoline van and a Honda motorcycle.
Myers was operating a 2006 Honda motorcycle when the collision occurred. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to Elkhart General Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. His next of kin was notified.
The driver of the Ford Econoline van was not injured and was cited and released at the scene.
The Goshen Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, and no additional information has been released at this time.
For Myers’ family, friends and loved ones, however, the crash represents far more than an investigation or a traffic incident. It marks the sudden loss of a life and the beginning of a difficult journey through grief.
At 41 years old, James had many more moments ahead of him — more memories to make, conversations to share and experiences to enjoy with the people who mattered most. His sudden passing has left an emptiness that words cannot easily fill.
Those who knew James will carry forward the memories they created with him. The conversations, friendships, laughter and everyday moments that once seemed ordinary can become some of the most treasured memories after someone is gone.
As his loved ones mourn, may they find strength in one another and comfort in the memories James leaves behind. May the support of family, friends and the wider community help them through the difficult days ahead.
May James Myers rest peacefully. His life was far too short, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and cared for him.
