With profound sadness, Mark Keyes, 51, of Flagstaff, Arizona, is remembered following his tragic death at Lake Havasu on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Division of Boating Safety responded at approximately 4:25 p.m. to an area south of Three Dunes after receiving a report of an unresponsive person in the water. Mark was brought to shore, where CPR was immediately performed. Deputies continued lifesaving efforts while transporting him aboard a patrol boat to the Cattail Cove launch ramp. Medical personnel continued CPR after the boat arrived, but Mark could not be saved and was pronounced deceased.
Authorities identified the victim as Mark Keyes, 51, of Flagstaff. The investigation into the drowning remains ongoing.
For those who knew and loved Mark, however, his passing is about far more than the circumstances of one tragic afternoon.
It is about the loss of a person whose life mattered — someone who had memories, relationships, hopes and experiences that cannot be captured in an incident report.
His death has left an empty space for family, friends and loved ones who must now face the difficult reality of his absence. Moments once taken for granted — conversations, shared experiences, familiar smiles and ordinary days — can suddenly become the memories people hold closest.
At 51 years old, Mark’s story should have continued with many more chapters still ahead. His passing is a painful reminder of how quickly an ordinary day can become a moment of profound loss.
As those who knew him mourn, they will carry forward the memories that remain and the moments that made Mark part of their lives.
May Mark Keyes be remembered with dignity, compassion and love. May his family, friends and loved ones find strength in the memories they shared with him and comfort during the difficult days ahead.
Rest in peace, Mark Keyes. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
