Taylor Fisher and Benjamin ‘Ben’ Moch Car Accident: Community Mourns Tragic Loss of Mandan High School Students Taylor Fisher and Benjamin ‘Ben’ Moch who Dies in Fatal Bismarck Crash

MANDAN, ND — With profound sadness, the Mandan community is mourning the loss of 16-year-old Taylor Fisher, who died following a devastating two-vehicle crash Friday night in Bismarck, North Dakota. The crash happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Main Avenue and Missouri Avenue. According to Bismarck police, a westbound Infiniti collided with the passenger side of a Chevrolet Equinox as the Equinox was turning left onto Missouri Avenue.

Taylor, a Mandan teenager and high school student, was one of the passengers in the Equinox. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The collision also left several others injured. Police said the Equinox’s 17-year-old male passenger was thrown from the vehicle and remained hospitalized in serious condition, while the 15-year-old driver was expected to recover. Infiniti driver 19-year-old Cameron Schestler suffered severe injuries and was also expected to recover.

Investigators said speed was a factor and are examining an allegation that the Infiniti was racing another vehicle. Police stressed that the racing allegation and other findings remain preliminary as the investigation continues.

For the Mandan community, Taylor’s death has brought a profound sense of grief. Friends, classmates, teammates and community members gathered Sunday evening for a candlelight vigil at Mandan High School, while flowers and messages of support were placed near the crash scene. Mandan Public Schools has also made additional counseling available to students affected by the tragedy.

At just 16 years old, Taylor’s life held so much promise. There should have been more school memories, more friendships, more milestones and more ordinary moments still waiting for her.

Instead, those who knew her are now left to remember the young woman she was and to carry her memory forward.

A tragedy like this reaches far beyond the intersection where it occurred. It is felt in classrooms, hallways, homes, friendships and families — in the empty space left behind when someone so young is suddenly gone.

As Mandan continues to grieve, Taylor’s memory will remain with the people who knew and loved her. The flowers placed at the crash site, the candles lit in her community and the support surrounding her family are reminders that her life mattered.

May Taylor Fisher be remembered with love, dignity and compassion.

May her family, friends, classmates and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss find strength in one another during the difficult days ahead.

Rest peacefully, Taylor. You were taken far too soon, but you will never be forgotten.
