With heavy hearts, we remember Tracey Michele Lancour, 54, of Eugene, whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating two-vehicle crash on Territorial Highway in Lane County, Oregon. The collision occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. Monday, October 5, in the 90600 block of Territorial Highway. According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the crash involved a log truck and the small pickup truck Tracey was traveling in.
When deputies arrived at the scene, Tracey was believed to be deceased. People nearby attempted to help and lifesaving efforts were started, with emergency dispatchers providing CPR instructions while they worked to save her life. Lane Fire Authority EMTs later arrived and sadly pronounced Tracey deceased.
The preliminary investigation found that the log truck was traveling northbound when Tracey’s pickup appeared to turn and cross in front of the truck, resulting in the collision. Investigators reported that Tracey did not appear to have been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Territorial Highway was closed in both directions as deputies investigated the collision and emergency crews worked at the scene. The Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office responded, and both vehicles were later removed before the roadway was reopened.
The case remains under review, and authorities have not released additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash.
But beyond the investigation is the loss of a person whose life mattered. Tracey was more than a name connected to a tragic accident — she was someone with her own memories, relationships, experiences and moments that shaped the lives of those around her.
Her sudden passing has left family, friends and loved ones facing the painful reality of a future without her presence. The memories she created and the impact she made will remain with those who knew and loved her.
