HOLLIS, ME — The Hollis community in York County is in deep mourning following the heartbreaking death of 34-year-old Amber Bowie, who lost her life in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Tuesday afternoon, October 6, 2026.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:01 p.m. along Bar Mills Road. According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, Bowie was driving a 2027 Kia Telluride westbound when her SUV veered off the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation. The vehicle entered a ditch, rolled over, and struck a tree.

Bowie suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Her sudden passing has left family, friends, loved ones and members of the Hollis community grieving a loss that came without warning. What began as an ordinary afternoon ended in heartbreaking circumstances, leaving behind memories that those who knew Amber will now hold especially close.
