With profound sadness, we remember Ariana McCullough-McIntyre, 18, of Swatara Township, whose life was tragically cut short following a shooting in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, shortly after midnight Monday. Her sudden passing has left family, friends, and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss.

According to the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office, Ariana died from a gunshot wound to the back, and her manner of death was officially ruled a homicide. The heartbreaking incident occurred on Mulberry Street, where Ariana was inside a vehicle with 18-year-old Juel Diaz and two other individuals.
Charging documents state that Diaz told police he and Ariana were in a relationship and claimed that the firearm discharged accidentally while they were inside the vehicle. Authorities, however, charged Diaz with criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license as the investigation into Ariana’s death continues.
For Ariana’s family and friends, the circumstances surrounding her passing cannot take away the pain of losing someone so young. At only 18 years old, Ariana had an entire future ahead of her — more memories to create, more dreams to pursue, and countless moments that should have been part of her journey.
Behind every tragic headline is a human life that mattered. Ariana was more than the details of a police investigation. She was a daughter, a friend, and a person whose presence brought meaning to the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Her absence will now be felt in the quiet moments, in memories shared, and in the spaces where she should have continued to be. The people closest to Ariana will carry forward the conversations, laughter, experiences, and memories that made her life special.
As her loved ones grieve this heartbreaking loss, may they find strength in one another and comfort in the memories they hold close. May Ariana McCullough-McIntyre be remembered not only for the tragedy that ended her life, but for the life she lived and the love she shared.
