Percy Moss Car Accident: Hot Springs Community Mourns 42-Year-Old Percy Moss Following Fatal Highway 26 Collision in Mississippi

With profound sadness, Percy Moss, 42, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, is being remembered following a devastating multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Highway 26 in George County, Mississippi. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6 a.m. on the Pascagoula River Bridge, between Highway 57 and Highway 63. Moss was traveling eastbound in a Ford F-550 when a westbound 18-wheeler collided with his vehicle. Debris from the collision then struck a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling eastbound nearby.

Moss suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, turning an ordinary morning journey into a heartbreaking tragedy. The driver of the semi-truck was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the driver of the Tahoe was not injured.

The violent collision also caused significant damage to the Pascagoula River Bridge, prompting an emergency closure while officials assessed the damage and worked to make the area safe. The Mississippi Department of Transportation later reported that the route had reopened, while permanent repairs to damaged infrastructure remained necessary.

Yet beyond the damaged vehicles, the emergency response and the investigation, there remains something far more profound — the absence left behind by Percy Moss.

At 42 years old, Percy still had chapters of life waiting to be written, places yet to be visited, memories yet to be made and moments still waiting to be shared with the people who mattered most to him.

His death is a painful reminder of how quickly an ordinary journey can become a life-changing tragedy. In only a matter of moments, a stretch of highway became the scene of a loss that will forever be remembered by those who knew Percy and by a community now mourning a life that ended far too soon.

As the Mississippi Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, Percy Moss will be remembered as more than a name in a crash report. He was a person whose life mattered, whose presence meant something to others, and whose absence will be deeply felt.

May Percy Moss rest peacefully, and may his family, friends and loved ones find strength and comfort as they grieve this heartbreaking loss.
