With profound sadness, we remember Abdallahi Baba, 25, whose life was tragically cut short in a deadly shooting while he was working at a meat market in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office, the shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at City Town Meat Market #3, near the intersection of Beechwood Drive and Sycamore Street. Authorities said Baba was working at the business, formerly known as Ragusa’s Meat Market, when the incident occurred.
Investigators said the shooting happened during a robbery that turned deadly, leaving Baba with fatal injuries.
His sudden passing has left his family, friends, coworkers, and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss. A young life filled with possibilities, experiences, and moments yet to come was taken away far too soon.
At only 25 years old, Abdallahi had so much life ahead of him. There were still memories waiting to be created, dreams waiting to be pursued, and countless moments that should have become part of his future. Instead, his loved ones are now left with grief and the painful reality of saying goodbye.
Behind every tragic headline is a human story. Abdallahi was more than a victim of a violent act — he was a person whose life mattered, whose presence touched others, and whose absence will now be deeply felt by those who knew him.
As authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and work to identify those responsible, Abdallahi’s family and loved ones are left holding onto the memories, conversations, and moments they shared with him.
May Abdallahi Baba rest in peace. May his memory remain a source of comfort, and may his family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him find strength during this heartbreaking time.
