With profound sadness, we remember McKala Deonna Hinds, 55, and David Howard Hinds, 51, a beloved couple whose lives were tragically cut short Wednesday evening following a devastating crash along New Highway 20 in Leighton, Alabama.

According to Colbert County Coroner Justin Gasque, McKala and David were traveling on a motor scooter when they were involved in a collision with another vehicle at approximately 7:00 p.m. between County Line Road and Sockwell Lane.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, but despite their efforts, both McKala and David were pronounced deceased at approximately 7:19 p.m. The coroner reported that their deaths were the result of blunt force trauma sustained in the crash.
The news of their passing has left family, friends, and loved ones facing a loss that words cannot fully express. In a single moment, two lives were taken, leaving behind memories, shared experiences, and the lasting impact they had on the people around them.
Behind every tragic crash are lives that mattered—people with their own stories, relationships, laughter, and moments that became meaningful memories. McKala and David were more than names connected to a heartbreaking incident; they were cherished individuals whose presence brought meaning to those who knew and loved them.
Their absence will be deeply felt in the days ahead. The memories they created and the love they shared with others will remain as a lasting reminder of the lives they lived.
May McKala Deonna Hinds and David Howard Hinds rest in peace. May their families, friends, and everyone grieving this heartbreaking loss find strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.
