The Lovell, Maine, community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Ivy Thomson, 25, whose life was tragically cut short Thursday, October 8, 2026, following a devastating head-on collision on Main Street.According to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 11:45 a.m. to the 600 block of Main Street after receiving reports of a crash involving a black SUV and a maroon pickup truck.
Ivy was driving the SUV when the two vehicles collided. Despite the response of emergency crews, she suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The pickup truck was driven by a 66-year-old man from Andover, who sustained serious, life-threatening injuries. He was airlifted to Maine Medical Center for emergency medical treatment.
At only 25 years old, Ivy’s life was filled with possibilities that should have continued unfolding. There were still memories waiting to be made, places she had yet to see, dreams still taking shape, and countless moments that should have been part of her future. In a single heartbreaking moment, that future was taken away.
